A major advantage of dry ice blasting is that there are no (chemical) additives. The pure CO2 sublimates after blasting, so that – apart from the loosened dirt – no products remain on the installation.
Dry ice blasting has more advantages that other techniques do not have for cleaning installations:
– Dry ice blasting is a dry method of cleaning. So no moisture gets into your installations.
– Because moisture does not enter your electrical installations, cleaning under (low) voltage is an option.
– Dry blasting is non-abrasive. So your components are not damaged.
– No parts need to be dismantled in the cabinet, except for any shields.
– No flying or residual abrasive. Since dry ice sublimates carbon dioxide, no blasting agent remains in the installation or the environment.
– After cleaning, the installation can be put back into service immediately.
